Newest edition to portfolio!

On friday i did a studio shoot with the stunning Kellie Parker! My idea was the skull, and a very gothic theme. Luckily one of my tutors had a ram skull in his office (don't know why hah) but yeah it worked so perfectly. Kellie is also a MUA which was great so she took over the make up and hair!
I was quite nervous about this because i hate to admit it but studio photography scares me so much, you have to get lighting almost perfect for them to actually work. But luckily it worked really well!

Here are some edited images that i love! there were so many from the shoot, Kellie was great and it just all worked so well!

Queen of frost images

So i renamed them queen of frost rather than ice, because it was more of a frosty occasion than an icey!
And ive only just realised i forgot to upload the final images!
Im really happy with how they turned out, but anyway here they are!

Not sure which ones i will use yet and i might even edit some more but this is so far! :)

Portfolio shoot 2- Ice Queen

Today i had my second shoot for my portfolio, in which i created an Ice queen look. I had the pleasure of working with the amazing model Beth Dooley and a fantastic hair stylist/MUA Emma Louise Elliot, who i had previously worked with for the MUA jobs.

I sent her my moodboard for the ice queen, which basically was simple make up, ott hair, which is what she did and it was amaazing!

She used a sponge in the hair and crimped, plaited and crossed it over and i was so happy with the final result! heres a shot i took specifically for the hair!
I also put my DIY skills to handy use once again and created my own head piece. or 'snow crown' if you like.  The 'icicles' were made out of glue from a hot glue gun, using baking paper to create the icicle shape. Here is some close ups of the final result of my crown after the gemstones and glitter had been added.

I was quite proud of the creation although i think i could of possibly added a bit more too it but overall i am happy with it!

The shoot itself went so smoothley, we used smoke bombs again which worked out really well and it wasnt actually pitch black this time! yey! as we did it much earlier (i think ive learnt from my last shoot) But yeah, Beth was a superb model who just kind of did it, and the outcome is marverlous!
Still on with the editing at the moment as i want them to be perfect , well near enough.
BUT here is some BTS shtos for the time being! Enjoy!

First shoot

Last night I had my first shoot for the portfolio assignment. It was a location shoot with smoke bombs, a kind of dark romance kind of thing. The make up i was going for was smokey eyes with red lips.
I had an amazing model called Nicole Sara and Joanna Satora.
The only thing that was wrong was timing, we were only shooting in Jesmond dene at that big church thing (only people from Newcastle will probably know what i mean ) but anyway.  Annabelle and i went to set up whilst they finished getting ready and then i had to go back for them and leave poor annabelle by herself in the woods! bless her, she's a strong little one though and made it!
Anyway, by the time we got there it was pretty much pitch black, waaaah. Luckily i had 2 lights which saved me but my problem was focusing, because i couldnt see a thing. i had to shine a torch on Nicole , it was like painting with light all over again. Luckily though i came out with a few images!

Im happy with these edited ones

AND SO IT BEGINS!

SO , today we got our brief for our portfolio. We have about 5 weeks to create 15-20 industry standard images of our choice, Its really exciting stuff but 5 weeks! 5 weeks to do that many images, its going to be crazy. I have a lot of ideas but i need to start narrowing it down. I found pinterest helpful to do this because it has so many different things, and it really helps me to get inspired!
if you would like to view my pinterest please click the link below, as you will see there is a crazy variety of images, most are very fashion based. I want to try mix fine art with fashion, making it very conceptual and hopefully unique.

Now to start looking for models , mua's and stylists....
il post updates on my portfolio so keep an eye out!

first post in a while!

Merry christmas everyone! i haven't been posting as much as i should of really but been busy with festivities and catching up with friends and family!
I am currently on a small family holiday in Northumberland, Newton by the sea, and for christmas i got a 85mm 1.8 prime lens! so this little holiday has been the perfect time to test it out and try it before i get back to Uni! Today we just had a crazy coastal walk to dunstanburgh castle with my dog and heres a few snaps from today. I don't really like landscape photography so i wanted to switch it up a little and make it so I was doing a lot of shooting into the sun today because i absolutely love this effect, and i've never tried it properly but here is a few of my favourites!
